Chances are, even if you are just passing through, you will find time for a horseback ride through the Shoshone National Forest. Our horses are friendly, and they take first-timers everyday. Trail rides are open to guests and to the public. For guests younger than six year of age, we offer guided pony rides. You can visit our horseback riding page for more information.
Dining and Bar
Come eat breakfast with us from 7am to 9am in the main lodge. Dinner is served in the evenings from 6pm to 8pm. If you are joining us on a Wednesday or Saturday night, plan on an outdoor barbeque. All dining is open to our guests and to the public. Our Saddlesore Saloon is open in the evenings and whenever you ask.
If you arrange an all-inclusive package, meals are already included. You can see our menus here. A
cookout lunch is included on our four hour and all day horseback rides.
If you are going into the park or are planning a hike, we can pack a
lunch for you.
Don't think that we could have a campfire without
s'mores! Roast marshmallows with us or just enjoy the company. The
wranglers prepare a campfire every night starting around 7:30pm. Help
yourself to marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate!
Kids (and adults) can show off their roping skills on our dummy steers. Challenge one of our wranglers any evening!
Game Room and More
You and the kids can use our small game room when you just want to relax. The room has a ping pong table, foosball, and air hockey. Outside of the game room, families can play horseshoes or just relax on the porch. We also have all kinds of board games available in the main lodge.
There is plenty of blue ribbon water in the area that makes for some of the best fishing in North America. The Shoshone River flows along the Yellowstone Highway directly past the ranch. Depending on the season, different parts of the Shoshone River are open for fishing. If you want to fish on your own, you can purchase a fishing license at a nearby convenience store or online at through the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. We have some fishing equipment available in the lodge. For guided fishing trips, we recommend the North Fork Anglers.
Whether you are looking for a short hike right off the ranch or you want to take an all day excursion, beginner and experienced hikers are not disappointed with the hiking trails that are in the immediate area. There are 940 miles of hiking trails in the Shoshone National Forest. Almost every trail offers picturesque scenery of the Absaroka Mountain Range. Hiking maps are available in the main lodge as well as bear spray if you forget your own!
