Work at Bill Cody Ranch

Thanks for your interest in working with us at Bill Cody Ranch. Bill Cody Ranch is a family-owned, historical guest ranch. We are located in the Shoshone National Forest just 30 minutes from both Yellowstone National Park and Cody, Wyoming.

The main lodge was built in 1925 and was later owned by the grandson of Buffalo Bill. The ranch has always provided traditional Western hospitality to guests from all over the world.

To meet the high standards and high quality of service that we provide our guests, our employees must not be afraid of long hours and hard work. You must be able to work well with others in a family atmosphere. A great sense of humor is a must.

Our staff becomes a part of our family and has the opportunity to meet and work with exciting people from all over the world. While working at the ranch, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy horseback riding, fishing, whitewater rafting, rodeo, western entertainment, Yellowstone National Park (only 30 minutes away), Cody, Wyoming, (only 30 minutes the other way!) and many other ranch activities. While most tourists in the area pay for these experiences, you enjoy them for free!

Your room (mostly dormitory) and board are free. Your laundry is done for you at a minimal fee. You won't spend your off time doing personal chores, and you'll be able to enjoy your time here. Pay is based on the position and your experience in that position. We will gladly discuss this once we receive your application.

"BCR Rocks! What a wonderful place to work! The surroundings are ideal. Tonia and Ronnie are some of the kindest people that I know, and it feels like family every day. I also like the cake contests and the fact that you can ride on your days off. Tonia and Ronnie also have a great sense of humor, which keeps the mood constantly light! Yay, Bill Cody Ranch!"

Pippa Blau, California

"This is the most welcoming place that I've ever worked. Ronnie and Tonia make everyone feel like part of the family. Most of the time—with the guests' and co-workers' company—it seems like you're not even working."

Kate Mayeaux, Louisiana

"Bill Cody Ranch is a wonderful opportunity to meet great people, experience a different way of life, and work in the Wild West. Mr. Ronnie and Ms. Tonia are so kind and generous and all the staff becomes so close as family. I've had so much fun working here, and I wish I could stay longer and not go home! Thank you, BCR, for a wonderful adventure!"

Maureen McCarrick, Maryland

"I came to the ranch with little horse experience, but with friendly co-workers and a helpful and patient boss and bossette, I have been able to learn so much more than I thought was possible. I showed up as just a handy man the first summer, but after my second summer, I left being the boss' assistant and working with the horses."

Justin Howard, Oregon

"BCR is a fantastic place to work because of the environment and the people. Ronnie and Tonia are wonderful to work for. They create an atmosphere for their staff that makes everyone feel at home. With full room and board and ranch activities open to staff, it is the best job I've ever had."

Sally Heilman, Pennsylvania

"BCR is the all-time best ranch to work for! Ronnie and Tonia are the world's best bosses. Maverick—the dog—always makes your day so much better. The horses are amazing, and the trail rides are like living in a picture. You can't have a better summer job than the Bill Cody Ranch."
